Born in 1977 in Kannapolis, NC, Gordon became a professional racing driver at the ripe age of 18. In 1992, he made his NASCAR debut with Hendrick Motorsports as a member of their Busch Series team. In just two seasons, Gordon went on to win five races and capture Rookie of the Year honors. He then signed with Hendrick Motorsports full time and competed in the premier Cup Series championship. Between 1995 and 2004, Gordon won 43 races, captured three Drivers’ Championships, and became known as one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR history. After several successful years as a team owner, Jeff Gordon returned to racing in 2011 with Stewart-Haas Racing. He would go on to capture seven more race victories en route to another Driver’s Championship. In 2016, Jeff Gordon retired from driving after winning his final race at Sonoma Raceway. Nevertheless, his legacy will live on through his countless accomplishments on the track and his amazing relationship with Hendrick Motorsports.
